Meandering entwining paths,
Toward all that is, a smile, a laugh.
Remembered youth at once returns,
From depths unknown, faintly discerns.
The brilliant haze of green and gold,
cool draught for tired eyes of old.
Spring of promise, wonder, surprise,
Atop weary shoulder of youth revived.

I've finished my summer reading....have you?

Seniors, you should begin to be thinking about what it's like to view the world from the perspective of the "other", the "outsider".  How does that affect your experience?  We will begin the first full week of school by reading through the traditional "Beowulf" text.  Be prepared to notice dissimilarities.

Freshmen, by now you have chosen Sula or Brave New World and have finished one of them.  Our Course Throughline, or the theme of our entire year, will be What does a study of literature tell us about the inequalities of our world?”  So, in preparation for both our year and the initial paper assignment, you should begin to be thinking about how inequality is represented in the text you have read.
