- Journal #4 - "Recall the conversation you had with a partner regarding your first memories (the oldest ones you can remember).  Using what you've learned about memory, write an analysis about why you think these are your first memories and why they continue to stay in your long term memory storage.  Do you think there may be any confabulation involved?  Why?  This should be about a page.

Is this a true statement?  Consider a situation in which a person is interviewed following a traumatic event.  Can their testimony be considered completely accurate?  Consider shock, speed to the events, inability to rehearse, conversion of short to long term memory, ability to translate memory into words, etc.  Use the verbiage you have learned in the reading to decide whether or not police questioning is a useful investigative tool."
